MERLION PARK – SINGAPORE


THE MERLION PARK IS ONE OF THE MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTION IN SINGAPORE, IT WAS FIRST DESIGNED AS AN EMBLEM FOR THE SINGAPORE TOURISM BOARD (STB) IN 1964. ON 15 SEPTEMBER 1972, THE PARK WAS OFFICIALLY OPENED AT AN INSTALLATION CEREMONY OF THE STATUE, OFFICIATED BY THE 1ST PRIME MINISTER OF SINGAPORE, MR. LEE KUAN YEW.

THE MERLION PARK IS ONE OF SINGAPORE’S NATIONAL MONUMENT. THERE ARE MANY ATTRACTIVE PLACES OF INTEREST AROUND THIS PARK AREA. VISITORS CAN EXPERIENCE THE FULL VIEW OF SINGAPORE FROM THE SKY USING THE SINGAPORE FLYER. THE SINGAPORE FLYER IS A GIANT SIZED FERRIS WHEEL THAT ENABLES A FULL VIEW OF SINGAPORE FROM THE SKY.

WONDER FULL IS SHOW THAT COMBINES AUDIO AND VISUALS OF SPOTLIGHTS, LASER LIGHTS, COLOURED LIGHTS, WATER FOUNTAINS, MIST SMOKES AND PROJECTED ANIMATED HOLOGRAMS WITH SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA MUSIC PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND. APART FROM THIS, VISITORS CAN ALSO ENJOY THE GARDENS BY THE BAY PARK. SOME OF THE BEST ATTRACTIONS IN THE GARDENS BY THE PARK AREA IS THE CLOUD FOREST, THE OCBC SKYWAY AND THE FLOWER DOME.
